Our last day in Florence. We’re all a little sad to leave as we’ve enjoyed our stay. I think you could easily spend a few weeks here as a base and not tire of it.
This morning we did a little tour with Ecotours as we thought it would show us a few places we hadn’t seen and give us some info. It wasn’t too bad but it really rehashed where we’d already been so probably would have been better early on. We did however stop at Basilica of Santa Maria Novella which was just beautiful. It’s smaller that many of the other churches but no queues to get in and was just gorgeous. Words and photos just can’t describe or do it justice.
Leisa and I then spent the afternoon pottering around the shops grabbing some last minute bargains.
Dinner tonight was at a lovely little family run restaurant with home made pasta. Again the food was incredible, we really haven’t had a bad meal here at all. Finished off with a final gelato and home to pack and bed for our 8 am pick up tomorrow. Venice here we come.
*i have to give a shout out to Steve who reads the blog every day π*
