Last few days down south...

It was a gorgeous day on  Thursday - about 29 deg so we were heading to Bouzigues for oysters. I don't know if any of you saw the series that Rick Stein did - called Rick Stein's French Odyssey. He fell in love with Bouzigues. The views are spectacular with views over the oyster beds that cultivate the famous Bouzigues flat oyster.

It is such a beautiful spot - with restaurants selling the famous oysters along the waterfront.

Of course we arrived at lunch time :)

To start oysters gratin and moules (mussels) gratin

Then the most delicious oysters. They are not very plump -in fact quite flat - but you could actually taste the sea. They were served naked - just with lemon and a baguette. So fresh that when you squeezed the lemon onto the oyster you could see the edges move.
They were served with the local wine - Picpoul de Pinet -  that they say is a perfect match for the oyster.

We loved them !!!

And the menu... We had the Plateau de l'etang and of course a serve of frites.

These oleanders are spectacular

French lavender

Next we stopped off at Pinet where the Picpoul wine comes from, we particularly liked these fill your own wine dispensers....

Especially the price

Next stop was Marseillan for coffee. This is another gorgeous town by the water. Took this as we sat having our coffee.

Then it was home to Pezenas and time to pack. We are leaving tomorrow and are very excited as we are doing the two and a half hour drive to Restaurant Bras, the 3 Michelin ⭐️⭐️⭐️ restaurant. After lunch  we are driving back to Montpellier (another two and a half hour drive) to stay one night before flying back to Paris for a night. Then it's on to Hong Kong.
But we need to eat !!!!  For our last night and especially as we had a very large lunch we decided on tapas. These tapinades are just too good from the Vintage Wine Bar in Pezenas.

The terrine was to die for
